Freedom Is As Freedom Does.

The historical truths that this country was founded upon are readily accessible. Nevertheless, it requires some ambition to come across it. However, improper education and redundant government indoctrination in American high schools and colleges kills this ambition. The people of this country have lost the very basis on which we are able to live in a nation as immeasurably great as the one that we have been blessed with.
Certain events have established American exeptionalism. These factors are the keys to unlocking the very principle that America was founded on; freedom.
Lets begin with the concept of the melting pot. The idea behind the American melting pot is this: Bringing together people from every different heritage, creed and belief and melting them together to create ONE nation under God. During the time of mass immigration it was common knowledge that after becoming a citizen of America you would continue in its traditions. Mothers would teach their children English, and there was never such a thing as an Italian-American; it was just Americans.
This is the only country on Earth that thinks its not sporting to consider our own interests in choosing immigrants. Try showing up in any other country on the planet, illiterate and penniless, and announcing: "Ive seen pictures of your country and it looks great. I think Id like to live here! Oh, and by the way, would you mind changing all your government and business phone messages, street signs and ballots into my native language? Thanks!" They would laugh you out of the country. Ann Coulter
Through 1629 - 1640 the first wave of four waves of settlers (the Puritans) came to America seeking religious freedom from the dictatorship that ruled over them in England. The question: why were they seeking religious freedom?
In the mid-to late 1500s law in England became outrageous against any countryman who wished to worship in the Catholic religion. It began as a monetary fine to any person who was found attending mass, and a secondary fine against any person who refused to attendance to a Protestant church. Throughout the years a monetary fines were rendered ineffective and the penalty for the previous crimes against England elevated to imprisonment and death. The new world was literally their only hope of survival in this world.
Another historical inaccuracy that needs to be addressed is belief that the Indians had no concept of land-ownership and were tricked or threatened into giving away the land. This is apparently due to the conception that the Indians did not know what they were doing. This is a lie. The settlers sought a voluntary cession of the land. In fact the colonial government openly punished any person who sought an unauthorized exchange of land with the Indians.
This was to ensure any exchange of land with the Indians was fair. The Pequot Tribe which was the tribe in the New England area was considered a distinct group living the area all through the 1960s.
From 1642 1775 the other three waves of settlers came to America. They spread out from Virginia to the Appalachian backcountry. This created the thirteen colonies of America.
From these thirteen colonies it is commonly believed as the beginning of a Perfect Union. Not so - the thirteen colonies were anything but
However, there was a fundamental similarity between every man, woman and child: even though they may not agree it is not according to man to decide for another. The colonist agreed to disagree. To them it was more important to have religious freedom, and the freedoms to live the way that God intended than to fight amongst men who had the same general ideology.
In 1763 Great Britain fought in a war between its two enemies: the French and Indians of North America. Most of the battles were in Canada, but the American colonists fought for Great Britain and took pride when they were victorious.
After this success British government became more aware of America. Seeing the land as an opportunity for them they began a series of taxes which was considered, smoking the colonists out. The British government believed that by taxing the colonists they could accomplish two things:
1. force a retreat; then go and conquer the American land.
2. Use the taxation to pay of their national debt.
Note: This is proof that taxation is NOT patriotic, for taxation was the straw that broke the camels back when it came to fighting for our freedoms as a country.
The colonists were already Patrons of the land they had found, and began to fight back. From direct taxes on sugar (Sugar Act, 1764) to indirect taxes on imported goods (The Townshend Act, 1766) the colonists rebelled. This infuriated the British government to the point of violence. On March 5, 1770 a day thats events would be the subject of controversy forever took place; The Boston Massacre.
The colonists had felt they had seen the worse, until 1773. The British East India Company was nearly bankrupt. A company started to in order to grow and export tea from India, another British colony. The company was very successful at growing the tea, but not at selling it. They had over 18 millions lbs of tea that they needed to get rid of.
The British government implemented the Tea Act which allowed the company to directly distribute the tea to the colonies, bypassing American vendors. This outraged the colonists. Many of which made a living from selling the tea. The concept destroyed American capitalism, and that was something the colonists would not stand for.
Protesting elevated - tea ships would turn around without even been unloaded. Governor Thomas Hutchinson was determined to have the ships unloaded. The colonists refused; the night of December 16, 1773, a group of colonists poorly disguised as Indians boarded a ship in the Boston harbor. (Note: poorly disguised because they were not attempting to blame the Indians, but they needed to be disguised well enough as to not be identified). The colonists successfully destroyed 10,000 pounds of tea by dumping it overboard.
Inevitably, the Revolutionary War began. Many people believe the Revolutionary War was a revolt against Great Britain. This is another historical inaccuracy. The colonists were conservatives. They wanted to maintain the rights they enjoyed from tradition and custom. This is unlike any other revolutionary war every fought. A revolutionary war is a revolt against the very foundation of a country. (For example, the French Revolution was a revolt. The French Revolutionaries hated French traditions and customs. They sought to change everything their country was founded on and make it anew right down to their calendar.)
The war the colonists fought was a War for Independence throwing off British authority and bringing back their original liberties.
What we meant in going for those redcoats is this: We always had governed ourselves, and we always meant to. They didnt mean we should. Captain Preston
After the war, gradually the patriots in individual colonies began picking up pieces and reorganizing their government. This was accomplished by writing down their own states constitutions. On May 14, 1787 the doors of Philadelphias State House (Independence Hall) were opened to the delegates of what would later be called the Constitutional Convention.
It was there that the 55 delegates who attended drew up what is now the greatest document in American History, The Constitution of the United States of America. (Read it: [link])
This document has one purpose; to describe, direct and deliver the freedom of the American people.
The constitution limits the responsibilities for federal government to eighteen specific tasks. Anything else that needs to be accomplished is left to the individual states undertake and handle as they see fitting.
Our Founding Fathers fought for our freedoms to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They left us a document carefully constructed to remind us and direct us. Today, that document is often disregarded in our federal government. Look at where we are - standing right where our forefathers were when they stood protesting the taxation of the British government. Only this time, it is the American government forcing outlandish taxation.
We have fallen back and let the government take control. We have lost the right to self-govern ourselves. We need to take our country back for the general welfare of our lives and the lives of our children.
If you want a socialist country then move to Venezuela, and leave the freedom for the people who want it.
